An evening with Brian James

Brian James, chief executive of Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, spoke about his organisation's transition from public sector institution to a commercial enterprise at the Pennine Theatre on 27 February.

The Trust is now one of the highest performing hospitals in the UK, and a fundamental prerequisite for this was the creation of a high performing board. The presentation provided insight into the change in thinking and leadership that has been critical to its success.

Brian and the Trust were recently featured in the BBC TV series Can Gerry Robinson Fix The NHS?, which sparked widespread debate on the issue of managing the NHS.
